The Cal Bears earned their third consecutive CRC Cup title with a thrilling 17-12 victory in overtime in the Cup Final. Kutztown put the initial pressure on, and were rewarded with the first try of the game to Robert Stortz. He powered through following a restart, and the conversion gave Kutztown the early 7-0 lead. Cal quickly responded with a booming try from Anthony Salaber. The big man shook loose through the middle and got over the try line. A conversion knotted the match up at seven apiece. Andrew Battaglia nearly went in for a try to end the half, but it was called back, as Battaglia stepped out of bounds just short of the try line. But, he would make up for it under a minute into the second half with a try in the right corner following some fantastic ball movement. A missed conversion made the score 12-5 Cal in the early moments of the final frame. Cal held the ball in their end for much of the first portion of the second half. But, an unbelievable flip pass from Jonathan Sage set up a great run for Alex Faison-Donahoe to tie the match at 12 with over a minute to go to set up a thrilling Cup Final finish. A body-slam with under 30 seconds to go by Bilal Hassen earned him a yellow card, and a man-advantage for Cal. However, Cal could not capitalize on the restart, and this one headed to overtime. Cal would hold the man-advantage for the start of overtime. In the extra session, Jake Anderson took the ball from a penalty re-start and scored to win it for Cal.
