Life of Significance – Collegiate Rugby Championship

Life of Significance

When people talk about rugby, it’s not just about the game. Rugby is known for its sense of community, loyalty, commitment and integrity. Similarly, Penn Mutual’s values are deeply woven into the fabric of our culture since our earliest days — acting with integrity, respecting one another, focusing on relationships, sustaining our legacy, a shared sense of belonging.

Rugby players do some amazing things off the field – Michigan's David Caputo was the 2016 Penn Mutual Life Of Significance Winner – Have a nomination for 2017? Contact The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company for more info!

To honor the values of both the rugby community and Penn Mutual, we are looking for nominations of a Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championship player, either male or female, who exemplifies these values, both on and off the pitch. This person may be a mentor on your team, give back to the community by volunteering or work with a local charity to ensure a better future for others. Nominations can come from coaches or players and we encourage you to submit nominations in 300 words or less to
that explains how this person lives these values.

The winner will be able to donate $5,000 to a charity of their choice, receive $1,000 worth of Rhino Rugby gear for their team, and will be recognized during the 2017 Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championship in June.

The inaugural Penn Mutual Life of Significance Award was presented to David Schroeder, then a midshipman at the U.S. Naval Academy for his selfless acts of leadership and his commitment to serving our country. Last year, David Caputo from the University of Michigan received the award as a result of his commitment to giving back to underprivileged youth.
