Notre Dame – Collegiate Rugby Championship

Notre Dame

The University of Notre Dame Rugby Club, founded in 1961, will be looking to ‰ÛÏRally Sons of Notre Dame‰; and ‰Wake Up the Echoes Cheering Her Name.‰ Putting more emphasis on the 7s game for the 2015 Campaign, the Irish will look to improve upon two consecutive narrow conversion losses in CRC Plate Finals; and to crack the top tier. The Irish have worked hard in their preparation this spring. They were key participants in this Spring‰’s ACRL 7s Series, winning the Clemson stop at the end of February, and hosting their own series stop in March.

A consistent participant since the inception of the CRC, the Irish will head to Philly with a young, underclassmen-heavy squad led by sophomore USA U20 participant, Luc Joseph. Leadership will be sought from three year Varsity Football Player, senior Tyler Plantz who competed in 6 games for the Irish during their 12-0 run to the BCS National Championship game in 2012. Under Director of Rugby, Sean O‰’Leary, and former USA 7s and XV Eagle Dave Fee, the Irish continue to close the gap and are dedicated to bringing the Irish into contention in U.S. collegiate rugby.
