Wisconsin – Collegiate Rugby Championship

Wisconsin

Head Coach: Nic Tyson
Assistant Coach: Scott Adlington
Director of Rugby: Skip Heffernan

Players to Watch
The Crass twins are key cogs in the Badger machine. Both seniors, they are similarly skilled but play different roles for the team. Hunter is a bit bigger than Tyler and can play most anywhere on the field. He can make something from nothing and possesses good speed and great ball skills. Tyler is the scrumhalf and plays sweeper in defense, where his superior open-field tackling ability comes into play. Dane Fleck will be on the wing and usually leads the Badgers in tries. He is not only fast, but difficult to bring down when caught.

The Scoop
Wisconsin is making its fourth appearance at the CRC, having finished in the top eight in 2012, the middle of the pack in 2013 and ninth in 2016. In each of those years, the Badgers entered the CRC as Big Ten champions. This year, they do so as runners-up, having fallen to Ohio State in the conference final. But the Badgers are a very dangerous bunch this year as always, and they’re capable of upsetting a contender along the way, and maybe even making the top eight.
